BBS Automation was acquired by Dürr Group
We are pleased and proud to communicate to you today that the Dürr Group has signed a purchase contract for the acquisition of BBS Automation on June 12, 2023. Pending merger control clearances and other regulatory requirements, the transfer from the previous owner, a consortium led by the financial investor EQT, is expected to become effective in the fourth quarter of 2023 at the latest.
BBS Automation is 10 years young since its foundation, exactly to the day, and on a steady growth course. Today, we have a total of 16 locations with about 1,400 employees in 9 countries, on 3 continents. The Dürr Group has recognized this potential and wants to develop it further together with its own automation business.
Our customers will continue to benefit from the global presence of our sites, the know-how of our automation specialists and, of course, the proven reliable organization of our company. There will be no changes in this regard. All previous contacts will remain the same and, as already announced in the Dürr and EQT press releases, Mr. Josef Wildgruber, CEO and founder of BBS Automation, will continue to manage the business within the Dürr Group.
In 2021, the Dürr Group had already acquired the automation experts Teamtechnik and Hekuma. With BBS Automation, the range of products and services will now be significantly broadened again. This will result in significant advantages and synergies for BBS customers, in the handling of international projects, in project management and in controlling.
If you, our customers, partners and business associates, have any questions about this truly great news, please do not hesitate to contact us.
With kind regards
BBS Automation
